history

CONE STREET was the name given by the New Yorkers in the beginning of 1900 to a place in the actual LITTLE ITALY district. This because an Italian, Italo Marchioni, invented on 13 december 1903 with the US patent nr. 746971,  the first biscuit cone and created one of the first take-away gelato shop. Many other Italians follow mr. Marchioni and in a short while the street was full of gelato kiosks and shops. When in New York someone wanted to have a great dessert, a visit to CONE STREET was a must. From there the italian GELATO was exported in all the rest of the US and the biscuit cone in all the world.
